Q-SYS Designer Software:  Support Policy

Q-SYS strives to bring new software solutions and features updates to better service our customers. To maximize business performance, you are encouraged to transition your systems to either the latest Q-SYS Designer Software release or the latest long-term support release.

Q-SYS will provide technical support on the most recent prior release of Q-SYS Designer Software (annotated as “End of Life – Supported”) for a period up to twelve (12) months. During this support period, Q-SYS will deliver a commercially reasonable effort to assist our customers experiencing problems with a system. After the twelve (12) months period, the prior software version will no longer be supported by Q-SYS.

Enable Q-SYS Control on Zoom Rooms Controllers

The new Q-SYS Control for Zoom Rooms App offers the ability to display a Q-SYS user control interface (UCI) directly on a certified Zoom Rooms Controller. Seamlessly control room devices and services connected to the Q-SYS Core including audio/video peripherals, displays, lighting, shades, environmental controls, etc., on the same pane of glass as your familiar Zoom Rooms call controls.

Q-SYS Reflect Enterprise Manager

  • Apply software patches to Q-SYS systems without changing firmware, including security updates and bug fixes. (Currently applicable to one system at a time, with a future update planned to enable software patches on multiple systems at once.)
  • Manage UCI Variables during runtime: Manage UCI Variables from Enterprise manager, allowing changes such as changing themes or button labels on a UCI without taking the Q-SYS system offline.

Dual encoding for NV-21-HU network video endpoint

  • Enables both the HDMI in and USB-C to encode separate video streams to the network (1080p maximum resolution) when set as an encoder.

  • Deprecated HTTP access to Q-SYS Core Manager in compliance with modern security standards to ensure a more secure environment.
  • Unapproved and deprecated ciphers have been removed for compliance with current encryption standards and best practices.

*Important Note: Updating to v9.10 will migrate the user database to a more secure password storage format that is not backwards compatible. If the system is subsequently downgraded to an earlier version, Access Control will be disabled and User Accounts will be lost.

When the unexpected occurs to your network and the connection to the Q-SYS Core is lost, ensure your SPA-Q Series network amplifier can still pass audio to a loudspeaker from a connected analog input signal.

  • Backup – Store up to five Q-SYS Designer file backups with runtime settings per Core, for all Cores connected to Enterprise Manager. Q-SYS Designer file is backed up upon deployment of the Core.
  • Export – In this Beta release, you can export design file backups that include the initial settings that were deployed to the Q-SYS Core along with the Designer file. It will not include any settings that were changed after deployment.

If you choose to use USB 2.0 infrastructure after updating to v9.3.0, bridging performance will be limited to 540p.

Resolved Known Issues

  • Audio: Gain components with Ramp Controls enabled, and stored in Snapshots with a ramp time specified, now recall and ramp correctly.
  • Audio-Video I/O > NV-32-H: Audio quality on HDMI displays is now improved when listening through the display's built-in speakers or headphone jack.
  • Audio-Video I/O > NV-32-H: HDMI I/O Encoder and Decoder, Generic HDMI Source, and Generic HDMI Display components now behave as expected when placed into Container components.
