19 Dutch Chooses the Q-SYS Ecosystem for Network Audio and Control
Located in lower Manhattan, 19 Dutch is a newly-constructed, 49 story luxury apartment complex that brings comfort and convenience to the heart of the city’s financial district. Looking to add network AV to the common areas throughout the building, they looked to the Q-SYS Ecosystem and Attero Tech by QSC to handle the task.
Integrator Essential Communications designed the system around a Q-SYS Core 110f Unified processor, which handles audio and control processing for the entire complex. They chose Q-SYS because its IT-friendly architecture enabled it to easily integrate with the building’s pre-existing IT network. Further, Q-SYS combines audio, video and control in a single processor, which meant removing the need for additional, cumbersome control processing hardware.
Attero Tech by QSC unD6IO-BT Bluetooth wallplates were deployed in the lounge areas and fitness facilities, allowing residents and fitness instructors to quickly connect their own audio devices to the room’s loudspeakers (via Bluetooth or 3.5 mm). With the help of the Q-SYS Scripting Engine, Essential Communications took advantage of its growing library of Q-SYS control plugins and used the Attero Tech unD6IO-BT plugin. This enabled a quick addition of the unD6IO-BT to the Q-SYS design without the need for any complex programming. It also allowed the integrator to add the playback controls to a Q-SYS network touch screen controller for any user in the room to access.
“My team loves working with Q-SYS,” explains David Schwartz, President at Essential Communications. “Between the plugin library and the intuitive control features, it’s much quicker and easier to deploy a Q-SYS system than a traditional AV system, and we don’t ever compromise on features. Not only was the project a huge win for our customers, but it was a decisive win for the team!"
